In 2020, there were major changes to the rules for aerial lift equipment training. Now called "MEWP's" or Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, aerial lifts require the operator to be trained as well as occupants (passengers) and supervisors.
In addition to the new training requirements, operators must have a written rescue plan and written job safety plan prior to using the equipment. This class reviews the safe operations for all mobile elevating work platforms including: articulating boom lifts, straight boom lifts, scissor lifts, personal lift equipment and now forklift work platforms are part of the MEWP requirements. This training is the formal training requirement under both the OSHA and ANSI guidelines and is compliant with those rules. Operators will still need to be evaluated by a qualified person at their job site before using a lift.
Aerial Lift Training Online provides online courses to become a safe aerial lift operator at the comfort of your home. The online training gives the operators the knowledge to operate safely and reduce potential accidents which cause downtime.
